Natural Skin Tag Removal

Tea Tree Oil

Many people look for natural skin tag removal methods. Some are looking to avoid harsh chemicals on their skin, some are looking to save some money and others like to try them because most of the options are conveniently already in their homes.

Natural skin tag removal remedies are a great option for all the above reasons and some work better than others. The cons of natural removal are that not all remedies work for everyone. It can depend on the product you use and your skin type. Some natural methods can also take longer to work than other over the counter skin tag removal products or a visit to your doctor.

We can’t say that one method works better than others, but these are the 10 most popular methods that people have had success with:

1. Apple Cider Vinegar

One of the most popular options for natural skin tag removal. Apple cider vinegar is antifungal and antimicrobial and a great choice to start if you would like to try a natural option.  Choose an organic ACV and clean the skin tag area well before application. You can try gently scratching at the surface of the skin tag once or twice with a toothpick. Wet a cotton ball with some apple cider vinegar and apply it directly to the skin tag. Do this twice a day until the skin tag falls off, but there is no need to scratch it each time.

2. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is probably the most well known of the natural skin tag removal methods. Tea tree oil is well known the world over for healing skin issues.  Wet a cotton ball and squeeze out the excess water. Put a few drops of tea tree oil on the wet cotton ball and press it against the skin tag. Hold it in place for 10 – 20 mins and then cover with a band-aid.

3. Baking Soda and Castor Oil

This mixture dries up a skin tag and which will cause it to shrivel up and fall off. Mix a small amount of baking soda and castor oil until it forms a paste. You can make a little extra and keep it in a small jar to use daily. Apply the mixture directly to the skin tag, covering it. Place a band-aid over to keep the paste on the skin tag. Repeat daily and the skin tag should fall off in 2 – 4 weeks.

4. Duct Tape

This one walks the line of natural remedies but is popular to try with varying degrees of success. The goal of this method is not to pull the skin tag off with the duct tape, but rather to suffocate it until it falls off. Cut a piece of duct tape big enough to cover the skin tag, but small enough that it doesn’t cover too much skin as you don’t want to suffocate the surrounding area. Place the duct tape smoothly over the skin tag and leave it there. When it eventually loosens from the skin, check underneath to see if the skin tag is still alive and attached. If it is, gently remove the duct tape, clean the area well and replace with a new piece.

5. Banana Peel

There are so many uses for banana peels, from their soporific effects to healing bruises. They can also be used to naturally remove skin tags. Cut off a piece of the banana peel big enough to cover the skin tag. Place the inside of the skin, the rough side, against the skin tag and hold it in place with a band-aid or bandage and leave overnight. Do this each night before bed until the skin tag falls off.

6. Garlic

Although this is an easy natural skin tag removal method, it is one of the smellier ones. It involves peeling a clove of garlic and either cut a thin slice and place that over the skin tag or crushing the clove and applying the juices directly to the skin and covering it with a band-aid. Repeat at least once a day until the skin tag falls off.

7. Dental Floss

This is considered a natural method as there are no chemicals and can be done in the comfort of your home. All you need is some clean dental floss for this. Take a small piece of dental floss and tie it tightly around the base of the skin tag as close to the surface of your skin as possible. Cut off any excess floss and leave it in place. In about 4- 7 days the skin tag will shrivel up and fall off.

8. Vitamin E

Applying vitamin E cream or oil directly to the skin tag multiple times a day is one of the easiest and healthiest natural skin tag removal options. Vitamin E cream is great for your skin. You can mix the vitamin E with garlic and apply this to the skin tag if you would like to see even faster results.

9. Oil of Oregano

Oil of Oregano is a great anti-inflammatory and antibacterial herbal remedy. Lightly dip a cotton ball in some coconut oil and add 2-3 drops of oregano oil. Hold the cotton ball on the skin tag for about 5 minutes. Do this twice a day.

10. Ginger

Ginger has many healing properties. It is used in an array of natural remedies, including skin tags. Use raw ginger for this. Cut off a piece and rub it on the skin tag at least twice a day. You can also cut off a thin slice of the ginger and place it on the skin tag under a band-aid and leave it on for the day. Your skin tag should fall off in about 2 weeks.

There are a lot of natural options out there that with a bit of patience will dry up the skin tag, or cause the stalk to fall off. These are just some of the most popular ones.
